HRH Sirindhorn sent to hospital

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn was admitted on Thursday to King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital for treatment of an infection and inflammation of the digestive tract, according to the Bureau of the Royal Household.

The princess had suffered a stomach ache and a fever before a medical team providing care recommended she be admitted to the hospital.

At the hospital the princess was diagnosed with an infection and inflammation of the large intestine and prescribed antibiotics.

Doctors recommended the princess refrain from conducting functions and remain in hospital for a course of treatment, the bureau said.
