Rain-swollen waterfalls closed to visitors in Khao Luang park

NAKHON SI THAMMARAT: Khao Luang National Park on Monday announced the temporary closure of six waterfalls deemed dangerous to visit after after days of heavy rain.

The closed sites include the popular Tha Phae waterfall in Chang Klang district.

The park announcement said rain had pounded the area since Thursday and raised water levels. The six sites would remain off-limits to visitors until further notice.

The province has warned residents of possible flash floods and runoff due to the downpours. Districts under close watch are Muang, Pak Phanang, Khanom and Chian Yai, it said.
