The Civil Court has confiscated assets worth 467 million baht from people who ran Victoria's Secret massage parlour on the ground the wealth was acquired through human trafficking.

Prayut Phetkhun, deputy spokesman of the Office of the Attorney-General, said on Friday that the Civil Court on Thursday ordered the confiscation of assets from 15 people involved in the operation of the massage parlour. They included its manager Satthatham Chaengchai and owner Kampol Wirathepsuporn.

However, only 225 million baht worth of the assets would go to state coffers because 242 million baht would be set aside to repay the debts Mr Kampol owed to Nomura Securities and Thanachart Securities.

Mr Prayut said that the owners of the seized assets had a month to appeal against the confiscation order.

Mr Kampol, 62, was at large, with the statute of limitations on the case of 20 years. Satthatham, 67, was sentenced last year to 18 years and 16 months in jail for procuring Lao, Myanmar and Thai underage girls. He was appealing against the sentence.

Officials raided Victoria's Secret massage parlour in Huai Khwang district on Jan 12 last year. The raid found 80 women, including girls from Myanmar, who had been working as prostitutes at the parlour.
