Children visiting Government House on Children's Day will be greeted by giant ancient reptiles.

About 10 replica dinosaurs supplied by the Mineral Resources Department have been positioned around the Government House grounds, to further wow young visitors keen to see the office where Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha works.

Children's Day is always the second Saturday of the year, and Government House is always a favourite place visit. There, they see with their own eyes the seat of power, where the head of the government administers the country.

Many experience the thrill of sitting in the chair that Gen Prayut currently occupies - and maybe dream of a distant ambition.

Government House will host an event on Friday exclusively for the families of PM's Office officials. It will be open to the public on Saturday.

The prime minister on Tuesday unveiled his messages for children this year, urging them to catch up with changing technology but to not forget building national unity and doing their duty as good citizens.
