MUKDAHAN: Police handed out pictures of the last Uighur migrant who remains at large after escaping from an immigration detention facility last week, as the hunt for the escapee continues on Monday.

Officers distributed handbills featuring the picture of Mutalib, 33, to residents in Muang district, in the hopes of tracking him down. Police also deployed sniffer dogs to areas where authorities believe Mr Mutalib may be hiding, including several fishing villages along the Mekong River.

A total of seven Uighur migrants escaped last week. One escapee was arrested on the same day, while five others were arrested the following morning. Police said that the escapees had planned to escape to Laos, while some were planning to head to Bangkok.

Meanwhile on Saturday, police handed out a cash reward to Thithima Uthawong, a Muang district resident, for providing investigators with information that led to the escapees' recapture.
