YALA: A paramilitary ranger was killed and his son wounded in a drive-by attack in Mayo district of this southern province on Wednesday morning, police said.
The attack occurred about 7am when Masukree Da-o, 38, of the 41st Ranger Regiment, was returning home to Ban Khao Wang on a motorcycle with his 5-year-old son riding pillion after buying food from a market at Ban Budong in tambon Prado.
He was followed by two men on another motorcycle who opened fire at him with handguns.
Masukree was shot many times in the body as his motorcyle crashed to the ground. His son was also wounded, hit in the hand.
