PHUKET: A 64-year-old Singaporean man was found dead inside a house in Thalang district on Thursday.

Police were called to Yucharoen housing estate in tambon Srisunthorn by neighbours who found the man dead in his bathroom, Pol Lt Phattarakorn Pongpaiboon, deputy investigation chief at Thalang police station, said.

The man's name was withheld pending notification of relatives.

Police said there were no bruises on the man's body and believed he had died at least 3 days ago. They found his will in the bedroom.

The body was sent Vachira Phuket Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

A neighbour, Anchalee Friend, 27, who lives opposite, told police she had taken the man some food and chatted with him on Monday morning.  On Thursday, she went to his house again but there was no response to her knocking on the door.

She heard water running inside the house and called her husband to help her check if he was all right. They found their Singaporean neighbour lying dead inside the bathroom.

Police suspect he died of some unspecified illness.
