NAKHON RATCHASIMA: Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha flew in by helicopter to visit some of those injured in the mass shooting in this northeastern province at various hospitals on Sunday morning.

He presented baskets of flowers to the victims and their families to give them moral support.

He was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwon and Interior Minister Anupong Paojinda.

Gen Prayut posted a message on his Facebook page.

"After the end of the events that inflicted losses to all sides, what we have to do next is take remedial actions to help people who have been physically and mentally affected," he wrote.

"We must together learn lessons from what happened with conscience and in high spirits. It is important for us to cooperate and understand one another.

"I would like to thank all, both in the government and private sector, for their cooperation throughout the night. For all Thai people, we will move past this together."
