Thais advised not to visit Kazakhstan

The Thai embassy in Astana has advised against making a visit to Kazakhstan, which has decreed a period of 14-days house quarantine for people arriving from Thailand.

The Kazakhstan government announced compulsory home quarantine for people arriving from Thailand and other countries with 10 or more novel coronavirus (Covid-19) infection cases.  During quarantine medical personnel will check the people daily. After completing the 14-days quarantine, they will be monitored for 10 more days.

Other countries affected are:  Australia, France, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, the United States, Vietnam and China.

Visitors from countries with fewer than 10 infection cases will monitored by local medical personnel for 24 days. The affected countries are: Belgium, Cambodia, Canada, Egypt, Finland, India, Italy, Nepal, the Philippines, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.

Official delegates as well as aircraft pilots and flight attendants will also be monitored for 24 days, or until they depart.
