Harrow School shuts after students return from Covid-19-hit countries

Harrow International School, a private school in Bangkok's Don Muang district,on Friday announced its temporary closure as a precautionary measure after 300 of its students and school staff returned from countries hit by Covid-19.

Jon Standen, the school's headmaster, said the school's management had instructed the returnees to stay at home and self-quarantine following their return on Feb 23, adding that during this period all classes will be switched online.

"We must insist that neither students nor staff in our school have been diagnosed with Covid-19. This is just a precautionary measure," he said. The school has also cancelled all school trips overseas and will organise deep cleaning at the campus during the temporary closure.

Mr Standen said the school will be close for six school days, from yesterday until March 6, and it will review whether it is possible to reopen the school on March 9.
