No boxing on the box

Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam yesterday asked TV operators to cancel boxing match broadcasts throughout April to curb the spread of Covid-19.

Boxing organisers may argue that no spectators are allowed, but the virus can be transmitted among TV audiences too, he said.

"People may gather at a house to cheer, eat and drink [and not practice social distancing]," Mr Wissanu said.
