PHUKET: Three new Covid-19 cases were reported in Phuket, two women and one man, raising the provincial tally to 220.

The 218th patient is a 58-year-old Thai woman, a housekeeper. She had been in contact with a previous confirmed Covid-19 case in Bangtao of tambon Choeng Thalae in Thalang district, the provincial emergency response panel reported on Saturday.

The 219th patient is a 48-year-old Thai man, a vendor. He had been in contact with a previous confirmed case in Bangtao.

The 220th patient is a 21-year-old woman working at a convenience store in Bangtao. All new cases showed no symptoms, said the panel.

From Jan 5 to May 1, a total of 220 confirmed cases were reported in the island province. Of them, two died of the disease, one died of complications involving motorcycle accident injuries and 177 were discharged from hospitals. Forty-one are still under treatment, one of them critical, the panel said.

Phuket authorities have set midnight as the deadline to collect its daily Covid-19 data so the numbers may or may not be included in the central database of the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration in time for its daily national briefing in the morning.
