Two killed, one injured in family accident

KANCHANABURI: A woman and her three-year-old daughter were killed and her husband seriously injured in an accident in Tha Muang district of this western province on Sunday morning.

Pol Capt Sumit Boonyanit, a Tha Muang police investigator, said the accident occurred at about 6.30am when a Mitsubishi Lancer skidded off the Saeng Chuto road near Moo 4 village in tambon Wang Sala and rammed into a tree in the median strip.

Police and rescue workers arrived at the scene soon afterwards. The woman, Sutathip Prachob, 25, and her daughter Suthada Yodsiri, 3, were found dead in the car, both with a broken neck. Her husband, Boonnam Yodsiri, 23, who was the driver, was seriously injured.

The family was from Moo 4 in tambon Tha Sala of Tha Muang district.

The car was badly damaged.

An investigation was underway to find the cause of the accident.
