Dad on daughters rape rap

Police in Samut Prakan have arrested a 42-year-old school janitor for allegedly raping his two teenage daughters over a period lasting more than two years.

Police from Samrong Nua police station arrested the man yesterday after receiving a complaint from movie star and women's rights activist Panadda Wongphudee.

The actress went to police after tracking down the 14- and 15-year-old girls.

She had sought to trace them after hearing accusations against the father made by people concerned for the girls' welfare. According to Ms Panadda, the father had threatened to kill the girls if they told anyone about the alleged sex attacks.

Ms Panadda said that before filing the police complaint she took the girls to a state welfare home for their safety.

She said the father worked as a janitor at an international school and the girls had lived with him after he broke up with the girl's mother and remarried.

He also has a one-year-old girl with his new wife, whom police believe he has also molested.
