NACC details assets of five top judges

The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) yesterday released a list of assets and liabilities of two former Constitutional Court judges and three new ones.

The former judges were Nurak Marpraneet and Jaran Pukditanakul whose seven-year terms ended on April 20 this year. The three new judges were Chiranit Havanond, Wiroon Sangtian and Udom Sittiwirattham who took office on April 1.

According to the NACC, Mr Nurak, who also served as the Constitutional Court president, has assets totalling 32.3 million baht and debts of 345,044 baht. Most of his assets are saving funds.

Mr Jaran and his spouse have assets worth 206.1 million baht and debts of 22 million baht. Their assets include land plots in Songkhla's Hat Yai worth 93 million baht while the debts include 14.9 million baht in loans from a woman identified as Jinda Sunthornpan.

Mr Chiranit has declared 114 million in assets and no debts. His assets include savings of 23.8 million baht and a land plot in Bangkok's Bang Sue area worth 58 million baht.

According to the anti-graft agency, Mr Wiroon and his spouse have reported assets of 19.2 million baht and debts of 88,871 baht.

Mr Udom and his spouse have assets totalling 24.3 million baht and debts of 308,413 baht. Among the declared assets were amulets and rings valued at 4.5 million baht and firearms valued at 120,000 baht.

Mr Chiranit, Mr Wiroon, and Mr Udom are among four new judges selected by the Senate in February this year.
