Road bomb damages armoured vehicle

NARATHIWAT: An armoured pick-up of the Southern Border Provinces Administration Centre (SBPAC) was slightly damaged after running over a bomb in Si Sakhon district on Monday.

Police said the incident occurred at about 12.30pm while the pick-up with SBPAC officials on board was running past Tue Ngo village on a road in tambon Si Banphot.

The explosion caused slight damage to the armoured vehicle. The SBPAC officials in the vehicle were not hurt.

The police report was confirmed by the 49th Rangers Regiment which said there were two officials in the vehicle heading for a village to distribute some necessities to villagers.

The SBPAC officials and the armoured pick-up were later escorted out of the area by rangers from Ranger Company 4916.
