The Bad Students movement claims their planned rally at Ratchaprasong intersection tomorrow is likely to draw larger crowds after Education Minister Nataphol Teepsuwan voted against every charter amendment draft.

The group, which is demanding Mr Nataphol's resignation over his alleged failure to improve standards, said the rally has attracted wider attention thanks to his voting on Wednesday.

"At first there aren't so many groups to join. Thanks to Mr Nataphol's rejection of all charter amendment drafts, students' allies have decided to join, and we will speak as the people," the group said in a tweet.

Mr Nataphol posted on Facebook yesterday saying the charter rewrite process would cost the country at least 10 billion baht and he thought the money should be spent on solving economic hardship.

Meanwhile, Senator Naowarat Pongpaiboon yesterday defended his decision to vote for iLaw's charter proposal on Facebook.

He said did not agree with the draft's contents, but he wanted the draft to be thoroughly studied by lawmakers in parliament.
