PATTANI: A soldier was wounded by a motorcycle gunman in Sai Buri district on Tuesday evening, police said.
The attack occurred about 6pm on Highway 42, near Ban Pho Moh in tambon Trobon.
Pvt Nathapol Senamit had left home on his motorcycle in tambon Thung Khla to buy food. Two men on a motorcycle drove up behind him and the pilion rider opened fire with a handgun.
He was hit in the upper back, near his right collarbone. He was admitted to Sai Buri Hospital and was in no danger.
Pvt Nathapol is stationed at Vibhavadi Rangsit military camp in Surat Thani. He was on home leave.
Police were investigating.
