KANCHANABURI: Twenty-five Myanmar nationals were arrested on Saturday night after they illegally crossed the border into Thailand at a village in Muang district.

At about 11pm a combined military-police patrol spotted the 25 -- 14 men and 11 women -- hiding in the bushes near the border. They had just entered Thailand at Phu Nam Ron village in in tambon Ban Kao via a natural border crossing.

They were taken to undergo a screening process at the health office in Muang district. None of them were found to have a high fever.

The illegal migrants were then handed over to the Muang police station for further legal proceedings.
