NAKHON SI THAMMARAT: A woman fired a shot that killed a man who had attacked and wounded her husband with a knife in Chawang district on Saturday, police said yesterday.
Pol Col Suthas Songsayom, the Chawang police chief, said the incident occurred at a house in tambon Chandi. The woman, Aree Narit, 61, said she stepped into a row between her husband, Krachang, 64, and his nephew, Sommai Wuthisak, 43, who lived about 30 metres away. Sommai attacked and wounded Mr Krachang with a knife. When she tried to stop him, Sommai charged at her instead. She grabbed a .22 pistol and fired one shot that hit him in the chest, killing him. Her husband was admitted to hospital for treatment.
