31 rounded up for illegal gambling in Nakhon Sawan

NAKHON SAWAN: Police rounded up 31 gamblers in a raid on a townhouse in Muang district of this upper central province on Saturday night, police said.

The raid at 11pm on the townhouse in California Ville Housing Estate at Moo 9 village in tambon Wat Sai came after a tip-off from local residents.

Thirty-one gamblers - 10 men and 21 women - and Arthit Imkham, an alleged gambling banker, were arrested. Gambling equipment and an amount of cash were seized.

The 31 included an individual identified only as "Hia Chong", an alleged operator of gambling dens in Nakhon Sawan.

They had their temperatures taken and would be tested for Covid-19 by health officials on Sunday before being handed over to Muang police for further legal proceedings.
