15 students injured when van, truck collide

PHICHIT: Fifteen students of Phichit Technical College were injured when the van they were travelling in collided with an articulated truck.

The accident occurred about 5.30pm on Monday at kilometre marker 94+375 on Highway 113,  between Phichit and Taphan Hin, near Moo 1 village in tambon Khamang of Muang district.

The driver of the van and 10 male and five female students were injured. They were admitted to Phichit Hospital. The driver of the truck was not hurt.

Police were investigating the cause of the accident.

Chainarong Kachamat, director of Phichit Technical College, said the students were covered by a group insurance policy.
