There were 621 under Samui Plus, 388 under Phuket Sandbox and 49 under the Phuket 7+7 Extension, making a total of 1,058. They stayed at 15 hotels, he said.

Under Samui Plus, there were 117 arrivals from France, 96 from Germany, 95 from the United Kingdom, 34 from the United States, 32 from the Netherlands, 22 from Italy, 19 from Switzerland, 14 from Poland, 13 from Hong Kong and 11 from Japan.

Their hotel reservations were for a total of 7,136 room nights and their spending was estimated at 41 million baht. None of them tested positive for Covid-19.

Another 996 foreign tourists had made advance hotel reservations - 657 under Samui Plus and 339 under the Phuket 7+7 Extension - for a total of 10,485 room nights.

Mr Wichawut said the Tourism Authority of Thailand and other agencies were considering including Khao Sok National Park and Ratchaprapa (Cheow Lan) Dam in the tour programmes on sealed routes for tourists who have completed the first seven days on Koh Samui.
