PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN: The Hua Hin Safari & Adventure Park has been ordered closed until Sept 26 after employees were found infected with Covid-19.

Provincial governor Panlop Singhaseni, chairman of the provincial communicable disease committee, said the open-air recreation park with exotic animals in tambon Thap Tai, Hua Hin district, has 50 employees.

In recent Covid-19 testing of the employees, 28 were positive.

It was believed they caught the virus from tourists visiting the park, he said.

Mr Panlop said the park's closure, effective fron Monday, was intended to help contain the spread of the disease.

Tourists and other outsiders were not allowed to enter, only staff who take care of the animals,  with permission from health officials.

The Thap Tai tambon administration organisation had been instructed to disinfect the park and surrounding areas.
