The level of the Chao Phraya River remains well below the top of the flood embankments and there is no flooding in any riverside area, the Bangkok governor reassured city residents on Thursday.

Aswin Kwanmuang said the Chao Phraya was flowing through the capital at 2,873 cubic metres per second on Thursday morning. The river level was 1.58 metres below the top of the flood embankment.

There had been no negative impact to date from the increased rate of discharge from  the Chao Phraya Dam in Chai Nat province, he said.
