YALA: Two rangers were injured in a bomb explosion in Bannang Sata district on Sunday, police said.

Pol Col Teerapot Yindee, the Bannang Sata police chief, said the incident occurred at about 10.20am when a patrol from the Ranger Task Force 30 was travelling on a pick-up along a road to Ngo Kapo village in tambon Khuan Banglang.

The patrol was on its way to investigate the burning of a closed-circuit television camera about 2 kilometres from the village.

A landmine planted on a roadside was remotely detonated as the pick-up passed. Two rangers, Somsak Kakaew and Basid Prompalad, were injured in the explosion, one of them seriously, .


The injured were admitted to Bannang Sata Hospital.
