Bomb damages police vehicle, injures motorcyclist in South

NARATHIWAT: A police pickup on patrol was damaged and a passing motorcyclist was injured when a bomb exploded in Bacho district on Sunday night.

The attack occurred about 8.30pm underneath a pedestrian bridge at a T-junction in tambon Paluka Samo, Pol Capt Pao Sripotha, a Paluka Samo investigator, said.

The bomb was detonated remotely as the police vehicle. from Mai Kaen, was passing underneath the walkway. The explosion shattered the vehicle's windshield and peppered the left side with shrapnel, causing a flat rear tyre. 

A local motorcyclist was slightly injured and was admitted to Bacho Hospital.

There were no other injuries.
