PM frets over coriander prices

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has asked state agencies to seek help from the military in growing coriander for distribution after the herb's price rose to 400 baht per kg, said Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Chalermchai Sri-on.

Mr Chalermchai said on Thursday the prime minister is concerned about the soaring prices of vegetables, especially coriander, widely used in Thai dishes.

The minister said prices have jumped due to flooding but they are expected to go down. He added that soldiers have already begun growing herbs like coriander and chillies for distribution.
