The operator of the electric boat service on the Chao Phraya River plans to add two more routes next year.
Cdr Parinya Rakwatin, chief executive of E Smart Transport Co which operates the MINE Smart Ferry "Urban line", said the company will add the two routes next year when more boats are delivered, raising the number of battery-run boats to 23.
He said the new additions will be a "Metro line" running from Phra Ram 7 pier to Sathon pier and a "City line" running from Pinklao pier to Sathon pier.
E Smart Transport Co currently provides the passenger boat service from Phra Nangklao Bridge pier in Nonthaburi to Sathon pier in Bangkok, known as the "Urban line".
According to Cdr Parinya, the company will increase the fare for the Urban line to 30 baht starting Jan 1. Passengers are charged a flat 20 baht rate.
The service stands as another option for passengers wanting to continue their trips using mass-transit systems.
