Chiang Mai sees 3,000 Covid cases

CHIANG MAI: More than 3,000 new Covid-19 cases were registered in this northern province on Tuesday, according to a communicable disease committee report yesterday.

RT-PCR tests confirmed infections in 361 people and antigen tests returned positive for 2,722 others, the report said.

Over the past 24 hours there were 3,083 new cases, most of whom tested positive for the Omicron variant. There was also one Covid-19-related fatality on Tuesday.

New clusters likewise were identified in many Chiang Mai districts.
