Drug suppression police arrested 10 alleged members of a drug network during a raid at a community in Bangkok’s Sai Mai district, and seized assets worth at least 8 million baht.

Narcotics Suppression Bureau (NSB) police raided 22 premises at Sai Mai Romyen community on Friday morning.

They arrested 10 suspects and impounded a commercial building, a townhouse, three cars, two motorcycles, gold and 31,380 baht cash with a combined worth of 8,060,380 baht, according to Pol Maj Gen Pornpithak Ruyuenyong, commander of the NSB’s sub-division 1.

The raid followed the earlier arrest of a member of  the “Seh Wei” drug gang and the seizure of 111,829 methamphetamine pills, 52 grammes of crystal meth and 26 ecstasy pills, Pol Maj Gen  Pornpithak.

The gang used the name “Seh’’, a title given to senior officers in the army, to create an image of credibility, he said.

A three-month investigation culminated in the court issuing 12 arrest warrants for members of the gang, Pol Maj Gen Pornpithak said.

The suspects allegedly received drugs from the network to sell to young people in Sai Mai Romyen community.

The NSB worked with other agencies in arresting 10 of the suspects on Friday morning and seizing their assets, he said.
