Illegal workers arrested in Ranong

RANONG: Forty-five migrant workers were arrested at a guesthouse in Muang district on Tuesday and charged with illegal entry, the Region 3 Thai Maritime Enforcement Command Centre (Thai-MECC) said.

The Kitti Guesthouse in tambon Bang Rin was raided by a combined team of immigration police, navy and army soldiers. 

They found 45 Myanmar migrant workers in the guesthouse. They had no travel docoments. Nine tested positive for Covid-19 and were separated from the group for treatment.

They were all charged with illegal entry and will be deported after completing legal proceedings.
