Bomb injures four rangers in Pattani

PATTANI: Four paramilitary rangers were injured by a bomb explosion while on their way to repair a water pump near their base in Mayo district on Wednesday morning.

The attack occurred Ban Mo Ngo village of tambon Krawa about 9am.

The team, from 4204 paramilitary rangers company, was walking to the damaged pump, beside an irrigation canal behind their base.

The injured rangers were Jirote Jitwisut, who was severely wounded, Sutthirak Chanwiriyatangsakul, whose left arm was injured, Wattanaporn Nuyimsai, who sustained wounds in his left leg, and Chaturong Songkhao, who suffered chest pain.

They were rushed to Mayo Hospital and a bomb squad was sent to clear the area.
