Missing elderly German tourist found safe after 7 days

PHUKET: A 76-year-old German tourist was found by police yesterday, after going missing for seven days.

Barbara Elisabeth Monika Glag Lange was discovered at about 11.30am in Sirinat National Park, after a search conducted by navy, police and national park officials together with Thalang residents, said Pol Lt Gen Ekachai Siri, an inspector of Phuket Tourist Police.

Ms Lange was reported missing from Maikhao Palm Beach Resort on May 9 after arriving on May 3 for a vacation with her family. It is thought she suffers from Alzheimer's disease.

She was found in a weak state and taken to Thalang Hospital and was receiving medical attention. Initial reports indicate she is in a stable condition.
