Japan donates B100m in lab gear

Japan yesterday handed over scientific instruments for laboratory development and cold storage equipment for samples and vaccines worth 100 million baht to Thailand to strengthen the country's Covid-19 response.

The hand-over ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, Japan's ambassador to Thailand Nashida Kazuya and Morita Takahiro, chief of the Japan International Cooperation Agency's Thailand office.

The items were given to Thailand as part of the Thai-Japanese academic cooperation via Jica and facilitated by the Foreign Ministry's Thailand International Cooperation Agency (Tica).

Mr Anutin thanked the Japanese government for its pandemic support.
