Strong winds and heavy rain are expected in provinces along the Andaman coast and Gulf of Thailand until Wednesday, weather forecasters said on Monday.

The Meteorological Department warned of gusty winds and rain on both sides of the southern coasts for the next two days. It strongly advised small boats to stay ashore during the period.

Ranong, Phangnga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun would have an 80% chance of rain, dropping to 60% in provinces along the Gulf of Thailand, the agency said.
