NAKHON RATCHASIMA: A 17-year old student at a well-known secondary school for boys died in a fall from the sixth floor of a school building on Monday morning.

An investigator from Pho Klang police station said the boy fell to his death about 7.45am.

Police called to the school on Mitrapap road in Muang district found a Mathayom 6 (Grade 12) student wearing a school uniform lying dead on the ground near a school building wall.

The boy's  school bag was found in the corridor on the sixth floor of the seven-storey science building, from which he was believed to have fallen to the ground.

Pathita Chanthakham, 52, a school grounds keeper, told police she heard something hard hit the ground behind her. She turned to look and saw a boy lying bleeding on the ground. She quickly called security guards and teachers.

Taweesak Somnok, deputy director of the office of secondary education, said the boy was believed to have taken his own life. Why he did so was being investigated.

The boy was reported to be a good student who had no problems with his family, teachers or fellow students. He had lately become reclusive and spent much of his time playing computer games.
