S Korea to audition potential Thai stars

The Korean Cultural Centre has teamed up with Korean entertainment agencies to host auditions in Bangkok and Buri Ram, the hometown of Lalisa Manoban, or Lisa of the South Korean girl group Blackpink, to find new talent from Feb 11-18.

The auditions mark the 65th anniversary of Korea-Thailand bilateral ties, said Cho Jae-il, director of the Korean Cultural Centre. They will be granted to talented teens born between 2005–2012. The Korean agencies joining the auditions are Kakao Entertainment, JYP Entertainment, Source Music and Gawoo Global Agency.

The venues hosting the auditions are the Korean Cultural Centre in Bangkok and Non Suwan Pittayakom School in Buri Ram, where the Korean Cultural Centre and Korea Foundation for International Culture Exchange opened a multi-cultural hall and multimedia room in November 2021.
