The Thai embassy in London has issued an advisory to Thai nationals in Northern Ireland about the elevated terrorism threat level issued there recently.
On the embassy's Facebook account, Thani Thongphakdi, the Thai ambassador to the UK, passed on the advice after the UK's MI5 security service and the UK Secretary of State for Northern Ireland Chris Heaton-Harris announced on Tuesday the threat level had been raised to "severe".
Level 3 represents a "substantial" threat, meaning an attack is likely. However, this has since been raised to Level 4, or "severe", indicating an attack is now seen as being highly likely.
The embassy has asked Thais living in the area or travelling to Northern Ireland to be cautious and not react in the event of an untoward incident or situation arising. They should report any such incident to police.
