Explosion at factory kills 1, injures 12

A woman was killed and 12 other people injured when a power transformer exploded inside a factory in Nonthaburi's Bang Yai district, according to Thairath Online.

Residents of Kasa housing village in tambon Ban Krang of Muang Nonthaburi district said that about 9.05am they heard a loud explosion at a factory in nearby Bang Yai district. They saw smoke billowing  above the building, but did not know what caused the explosion.

They learned later that a large power transformer exploded inside KML Technology Co's factory producing electronic parts and lightning conductors. The explosion caused the factory's roof to collapse.

Initial reports said one woman, who was still unidentified, was killed and 12 other people hurt in the incident. The injured were admitted to Kasemrat Rattanathibet Hospital.
