A Russian tour guide had his face slashed early Wednesday in Pattaya, reportedly after catching two transvestite prostitutes stealing his valuables.

Belorzuko Nioxim, 25, arrived bleeding at the police station in the Chon Buri province resort town around 3.45am Wednesday.

He said that the two transgenders had propositioned him near Soi 6/1 on Pattaya Beach and, after taking them to a nearby hotel, he discovered his Apple iPhone 4 and about 10,000 baht missing. When he tried to search the two men in skirts, they resisted and one took a box cutter to his face before fleeing.

The Russian received first aid and was transported to Banglamung Hospital.

Police found the blood-stained blade in the room and learned that one of the prostitutes went by the name of "Ann" and was about 25 years old.

Police were searching for both suspects as the incident damaged the tourism image of Pattaya City.
