NAKHON PATHOM: A tambon administration organisation (TAO) deputy chairman and a kamnan's assistant in Muang district of this western Central province were arrested late on Saturday night for alleged vote-buying.

Police said Kampol Poempoon, deputy chairman of the Thap Luang TAO was caught with 2,000 baht while he was handing over the money to a voter in Moo 1 village of tambon Thap Luang.

Chan Hompong, an assistant to the kamnan of tambon Thap Luang, was arrested at Moo 15 village in tambon Thap Luang with 10,000 baht and a list of voters already paid to vote for a candidate in Nakhon Pathom's Constituency 2.

When arrested, Mr Chan accused a kamnan of being an accomplice.
