Prosecutors have decided not to indict Future Forward Party (FFP) leader Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit on computer crimes charges, according to FFP lawyer Krissadang Nuttajaras.

The decision was disclosed by Mr Krissadang after Mr Thanathorn, party executive Jaruwan Saranket and party registrar Klaikong Waithayakarn met prosecutors on Tuesday to hear their decision on the case at the Office of the Attorney-General.

The prosecutors will send their decision to the Royal Thai Police office. If the national police chief objects to the decision, the objection will be raised with the Attorney-General who will have the final say on whether the indictment will be dropped or not, the lawyer said.

The case concerns remarks made live on two Facebook pages, "The Future We Want" and "Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit", on June 26 last year.

Mr Thanathorn and the two party executives claimed the NCPO was poaching former MPs at a time when politicians with a strong chance of winning an election were reportedly considering defecting to the Palang Pracharath Party.

The trio were charged with importing false information into a computer system in violation of the Computer Crime Act.
