A Future Forward Party (FFP) member and a political activist have reported to police but denied breaking the law by organising anti-government "Wing Lai Lung" (Run to Oust Uncle) events in Nonthaburi and Bangkok.
On Jan 12, Panyarat Nanthaphusittanon, a Nonthaburi FFP activist, held an event simultaneously with a run held by Tanawat Wongchai at Bangkok's Suan Rot Fai or Vachirabenjatas Park.
Runs to "oust Uncle" -- referring to Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha -- also took place in other provinces.
Police summoned Mr Tanawat and Ms Panyarat to acknowledge charges of organising a public gathering without notifying police 24 hours in advance.
Ms Panyarat, who arranged "exercise" in front of Nonthaburi provincial hall, met officers at Rattanathibet Police Station but said: "I prefer not to acknowledge the charge."
"We just want to reflect the government's work is unsatisfactory and needs improvement," Ms Panyarat said, adding individuals had a right to express their beliefs.
Mr Tanawat, who met Bang Sue police, shared that stance.
