Anti-govt rally at Khon Kaen University

KHON KAEN: Khon Khaen University students held a second round of demonstrations on Saturday night despite fears of the coronavirus spread, saying they have had enough of the government.

Students from all faculties began to gather at the multi-purpose ground by the Law Faculty at about 6.30pm.

Sheets of white cloth were laid at the entrance for students to write their messages to the government and express their opinions.

Student leaders took turns to deliver speeches attacking the government's handling of various situations, including the spread of Covid-19, which they said clearly showed failures in its administration.

They called for the government to step down since it is unable to effectively solve the country's problems.

Face masks and hand gel were distributed to all who took part in the activity as a precaution against Covid-19.

The student leaders said to the cheering crowd: "We are afraid of the virus. But we are also duty-bound to study and seek the government's ouster."
