Cambodia still has no clue about the disappearance of Thai activist Wanchalearm Satsaksit, who was reportedly abducted near his apartment in Phnom Penh on June 4.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Cherdkiat Atthakor said on Saturday that on June 11, the Cambodian Foreign Ministry sent a letter, replying to inquiries from the Thai embassy in Phnom Penh, saying Mr Wanchalearm had come and left Cambodia many times between 2014-2015. He was granted a visa which allowed him to stay in Cambodia until Dec 31, 2017. He never renewed the visa and Cambodian government has no information about his disappearance.

However, the embassy is also pursuing the matter, he said.
