Many people are not satisfied with Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwon's performance as caretaker prime minister, according to a recent survey carried out by the National Institute of Development Administration (Nida).
The survey -- which was carried out between Sept 5 and 7 over the phone among 1,312 adults from various socioeconomic backgrounds -- asked respondents for their opinion on Gen Prawit's performance as caretaker prime minister, following Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha's suspension by the Constitutional Court over his tenure controversy.
When asked if it is appropriate for Gen Prawit, in his caretaker position, to reshuffle cabinet, 58.9% of respondents said "no", while 21.6% of respondents said it would be appropriate.
About 3.5% did not answer the question asked by the pollster.
When asked whether it would be appropriate for Gen Prawit to dissolve the House and call a new election, 80.3%, said "yes".
Some 14% said it wouldn't be appropriate. About 1% did not answer the question.
Finally, when asked whether they were satisfied with Gen Prawit's performance as caretaker prime minister, 63.7% of respondents said "no" -- with 41.5% saying they were not satisfied at all.
About 22.3% said they were mostly unsatisfied, 22.9% said they were fairly satisfied and 8.5% completely satisfied.
