The preparations for the 16th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) in September are under progress on schedule. The expanded China commodity pavilion, in an effort to propel the transformation of foreign trade sector by embracing cross-boarder e-commerce, highlights the science and technology (S&T) elements and improves the exhibitor experience by adapting whole-process on-line exhibition invitation and application.
The five-themed expo includes: Commodity Trade, Investment Cooperation, Advanced Technology, Trade in Services, and Cities of Charm, proposing 7000 exhibition booths in total. Among them, 5300 booths are reserved for exhibitors from the mainland of China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. Coupled with a number of well-known corporations confirming participation, the applications have exceeded the original plan by far. The repetition participation rate of enterprises and institutions on investment cooperation, service trade, etc. amounts to over 80% of total applications.
The showcase scale of advantageous industries is expected to achieve "new growth". The 16th CAEXPO will step up efforts to adjust and streamline the commodity category, and encourage the participation of advantageous and booming industries, as well as highly demanded ones with outstanding trade performance. The five key China-ASEAN cooperation sectors, namely building materials, engineering machinery, electric power, agriculture and light industry, occupy a total area of over 8000 square meters, accounting for 60% of the total planned area of China commodity exhibition area. This arrangement further enhances the scale effect and improve the exhibition mode emphasizing both diversity and speciality.
"New technologies" are in the spotlight. The Chinese commodities of the 16th CAEXPO are characterized by of scientific and technological innovation, focusing on the demonstration of new products and technologies playing leading positions in various industries, including industry application, personal 5G terminal, innovative 5G application, cloud-based intelligent robot, financial big data application and its technical service, iris recognition technology, and S&T inventions such as the new generation of crop gene sequencing device.
The introduction of "new business forms" such as cross-border e-commerce promises to prop up the transformation and upgrading of foreign trade sector. According to the official of the CAEXPO Secretariat, with an attempt to strengthen the O2O interactions among the corporations at home and abroad and foster an extensive internet platform for exchanges and trade, not only the cross-border e-commerce platforms & parks, such as JD, BDWORK, SF Best, Mayiyanghuo and Nanning Supply & Marketing E-Commerce, but also a batch of internet retailers, e.g. Three Squirrels Group, Nanfang Black Sesame Group Co., Ltd, Inspur Group are invited to participate in the CAEXPO.
The whole-process on-line exhibition invitation and application brings about "new experience". Thanks to the IT system renovation and upgrade, the entire exhibition registration process, from application, review, booth allocation to confirmation has been shifted to online. Through data sharing with ticket system, improving registration efficiency and streamlining operation procedures, the convenient "one-stop" exhibition process further enhances participant experience.
So far, national-level SOEs such as China Railway Group Limited, Aluminum Corporation of China Limited, China Road and Bridge Corporation, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation, China Southern Power Grid, China General Nuclear Power Corporation, China Datang Corporation, Bank of China and China Mobile Communications Corporation, and quite a few of locomotives of booming industries, e.g. Inspur Group, Glarun Technology Co.,Ltd., SZ DJI Technology Co., Ltd., Darsun Laser Technology Co., Ltd., Guangxi Guohong Zhihong Environmental Technology Development Co., Ltd have confirmed their attendance.
