The 15th International Telecommunication Society

The National Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) in cooperation with the International Telecommunications Society (ITS) hosted the 15th International Telecommunication Society, Asia-Pacific Region Conference: Digital Transformation for Building a Sustainable Society, during 28-29 October 2019, at JW Marriott Bangkok Hotel.

Assistant Professor Thawatchai Jittrapanun, Commissioner, together with Mr. Takorn Tantasith, Secretary-General of the Office of the NBTC, and ITS executives led by Mr. Stephen Schmidt, Chairman, and Professor Hitoshi Mitomo, Vice Chairman of ITS, joined the opening ceremony on 28 October 2019.

The conference aimed to offer an academic platform for stakeholders in the telecommunications industry in countries within the Asia-Pacific region. The event was designed to encourage participants to exchange ideas and methodologies that can be applied to enhance capabilities in the arena of advanced information and communication technology (ICT) and sustain society. Different aspects covered included digital transformation, economic transformation, spectrum needs, impacts and challenges, and more. 

Participants in the conference represented over 10 countries with approximately 120 delegates from leading organizations presenting and sharing 80+ papers containing valuable research relevant to telecommunications advancement.
