Happy Valentine’s Day on TikTok where new generations like to say “I love you”

Many people are familiar with the funny and creative video clips on TikTok, the world-famous short-video platform which has proven hugely popular among younger generations. TikTok is also full of warm, cute content where creators transmit their feelings, especially when it comes to love. And through its editing and stickers features, messages of love can now be expressed in unique ways while also garnering view counts.

TikTok has grown into an invaluable global platform for self-expression, including in Thailand. The video-sharing social network is growing exponentially with support from new-gen users, mostly aged 18-34 years-old. Its short-form video content has created frequent viral phenomena, proving especially popular during important events such as Songkran, Loy Krathong and, most recently, Valentine’s Day.

Numerous pieces of million-view romantic content, including hashtags and online campaigns, have been created on this hit platform. Based on statistics, TikTok’s hottest trending love-related hashtags include #DayOfLove and #iloveyou, each garnering millions of views. Users are encouraged to browse through collections and create their own unique romantic clips to add to the archive.

The love trend on TikTok also gives rise to couple-creators who generate cute content together. One of the most famous examples is TamRaoMa (Follow Me). The duo use the platform to showcase short clips documenting their relationship and journey as a couple, starting from their first meeting, first impressions, admittances of love and dating escapades. Their output has attracted large groups of users following, liking and sharing their video clips in support of the couple. One of their most popular clips documents the first time they met. They’ve since garnered over 5 million views.

TamRaoMa is just one of many couples on TikTok. The network has become a space for people to share their love wherever they are and whenever they wish. During this Valentine’s season, the platform will be overflowing with onscreen romances. The possibilities are endless and it will be up to creators’ imaginations to impress both loved ones and fans with video declarations of love, dating adventures, marriage proposals and more.

This year, Tiktok invites all creators to join a Valentine’s Day campaign entitled “Valentine’s Memes”. Its hashtags include #ShowYourLove, which is for creative and unrestrained expressions of love. Singletons won’t be left behind and can join #SingleMustSurvive to show how single people can stay strong and survive the month of love unscathed. Users are invited to participate in the “Valentine’s Memes” campaign starting today. TikTok is available on iOS and Google Play.
